Thursday 7th April – walk *** – Around Felixstowe – sunshine and showers and very windy!

After missing yesterday’s windy day because of a top family lunch out, delicious fish and chips too I was keen to get out today but with winds constanly gusting around 50 knots at Shotley I decided to give it a miss, I think my super windy sailing days are behind me now especially as not keen to travel these days with the price of diesel certainly not helping! So had a nice day in Felixstowe doing my exercises in the morning and the washing did not take long to dry in the strong wind even managing to get it in before the squally showers arrived! Then after lunch Mag and I decided to brave the conditions and head out for a walk heading down to Langer Park which was fairly sheltered, then onto the prom at Beach Road with glimpses of sunshine the sky again was a picture, we do get top skies here in Suffolk. With the wind from the west, offshore and on our backs, we had a pleasant stroll to the pier for a few nice pics carrying onto Bent Hill. Up into the town bumping into an old birdwatching friend, stopping for a nice chat. With Mag popping into a few shops, I had a nice chat to another local windsurfer, Al Wiz before continuing home into a very strong headwind with a little rain! The usual yummy cuppa and cake but sadly it was dreadful horse racing on TV so missed out on Lingo and Tipping Point today:( It was about as far as I want to walk with my still dodgy heel!
